Collegedale Soccer League

Congrats to our Champions of each division!

U8 - Fireflies

U10 - Titans

Girls - Pink Panthers

U13 - Chattanooga FC

We had some great games this past Sunday. All these kids played with a lot of heart, it was amazing to see. Truly a special environment to get everyone together, to eat some good food, and watch our kids have a great time.

I wanted to share details with you about the All-Star games. The coaches now have the names and contact information for their all stars, and will be contacting the parents in the coming day or two.

Here is the Schedule for the All Star game:
November 10th
1:00 - Girls
2:30 - U8
4:00 - U10
5:30 - U13
The schedule is a little different from the previous weeks. This allows us to sleep in (YES), play in the warmest part of the day, play the last game after dark (Which I heard the U13 boys loved this past Sunday), while getting home at a decent hour on a school night.

I want to encourage you all to come to the games even if your child is not playing, to support teammates, friends and family and have some fun as we have our final farewell to our inaugural season.

See you all on the 10th!

Important Notes

Parking
  • Collegedale Academy wants to make sure we park in designated spots. Please do not block any emergency exits at the school, or the gate that leads up to the fields.
  • Southern does not want us parking at the Wellness center as they have very limited parking for their students, faculty and community members using the facilities.
  • You are able to use any other designated parking areas at CA High School, Middle school, and Church parking lot.

How to Have the Best Experience Together

  • We want to make sure people stay off the dirt on the fields as much as possible. Southern and CA are generous partners allowing us to use these fields, and we don’t want to make them a mess, as both of these fields will be used for Southern Intramurals and CA class games this fall. We want to watch particularly kids digging in the dirt, and if the fields are wet, we want to avoid stepping on the fields entirely.
  • Be sure to bring any chairs for watching the game. We are unable to provide any bleachers for spectators.
  • For those parents that have a child in the girl’s league, if you don’t mind assisting picking up cones, or helping take down goals we would really appreciate it!
  • Please be sure to take your trash with you, and help us pick up any extra trash you see lying around. A huge thank you for helping with this.
  • The fields will be set up each Sunday by 9 AM with all of the goals. Each time slot will leave players time to warm up, we ask that the cones are undisturbed as much as possible and please watch that the goals are treated carefully. These goals are good quality that fold up easily and compact, but they are more fragile then regular soccer goals. So be sure your kids and players are not hanging on them, grabbing them or knocking them down.

Need Help?

  • We will have a closet at the concessions stand for lost and found. These items will not be available for pickup during the week, but we will make sure they are secure and available for pickup the following Sundays.
  • There will be yard sale-type signs at each of the fields identifying them; you can see in the attachment below where each field is located. There will also be a tent set up near the main sidewalk between the fields that will have someone available to point you in the right direction, and answer any questions you might have.
  • If you have sizing issues for your children's jerseys, please be sure to let the coach know. I am going to have the coaches make a list of any issues they have, and report to Jason Herod.

Schedule & Field Assignments

A couple of notes about our schedule. We are able to use both fields behind Collegedale Academy now. This will help and maximize space and time slots for our schedule. U6, and U8 divisions will use the CA field 5 for all of their games.  Both of these divisions will have 4 games going on at a time.

Our U10, U13 and Girls division will use SAU's field. This is the field we used for our practices before the season. For these three divisions we will have 2 games at a time. They will be marked at SAU 5A and SAU 5B.

Time Division
9:00 AM U10 (SAU) U6 (CA)
10:15 AM U13 (SAU) U8 (CA)
11:15 AM Girls (SAU)

The overall philosophy of our schedule came down to a couple principles. First of all, we want the schedule to be efficient, and we want to avoid the summer heat as much as possible. Instead of scheduling an hour for each division, which would have games ending around 2:30, this schedule will have us ending games by 12:30. The way the time slots worked was heavy consideration of teams utilizing pull up players. There will be times when certain teams will not have enough players for a game. And they will need to pull up from a lower division. U13 can pull up U10 players, U10 can pull up U8 players, and Girls division will pull up from U8. This will ensure each team has enough players for their games, while also allowing some of the younger kids to have additional playing time.
